Beatrice Hagerman

This unassuming McDowell County native has spent her life making charming handcrafted items,
while passing along her knowledge to her daughter, Geneva Manes. Her crocheted baby
blankets are particular favorites at local festivals. Each Christmas season, she and her husband
create the famous Hilltop Lights display, which draws several thousand people to their remote
location on Bradshaw mountain.
