                                          TBAI Welcomes New Intern
Ashland-based economic-development non-profit Travel Beautiful Appalachia, Inc. (TBAI) has welcomed a new member to its team. Business Development Intern Scott Bennett will assist in providing support and seeking out new opportunities for local entrepreneurs, including initiating a new lending program. Bennett comes by way of Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) who have been partners of TBAI since 2005 and developed the curriculum for TBAI’s comprehensive eight-week Business Builders training program.
Bennett, who grew up in Maryland, holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Virginia’s University of Richmond and is completing a graduate certificate in International Project Management from Humber College of Toronto, Canada. Additionally, he has over two years experience teaching business and economics while serving with the US Peace Corps in Ukraine.
“I’m excited to be working with such a dynamic organization.” says Bennett. “[TBAI is] committed to improving the region’s future while staying rooted in the rich history of its past. I’m looking forward to meeting more members of the community through the Business Builders program.”
Bennett will be helping facilitate the training program this fall with TBAI’s Business Development Manager Debbie Bailey. The two will host information sessions about the program on Monday, October 1st at the Tug River Wellness Center in Wilcoe at 11am and 6pm. For additional information, call TBAI at (304) 862-4800.
